PixoProof vs Pixieset

A Pixieset alternative when screenshots are the problem

Pixieset Client Gallery is a polished web gallery with a store. PixoProof is built around protecting previews: native apps that block screenshots, and alerts when a client takes one. Here is an honest side-by-side.

We compare Pixieset’s Client Gallery product only. Its website builder, Studio Manager and other products are outside this comparison.

In short

The main differences

  • Pixieset galleries open in the browser; its Mobile Gallery App is added from the browser to the home screen. PixoProof clients use native iOS and Android apps, with web viewing optional per gallery.
  • We found no screenshot blocking, detection or alerts on Pixieset’s pages or help center; it describes watermarks as a way to “help deter screenshots”. PixoProof’s apps block screenshots and recordings and alert you.
  • Pixieset includes a store with print labs and digital download sales. PixoProof has no built-in store.
  • Both have a free plan with 3 GB. Pixieset’s free plan takes a 15% commission on store sales.

Fair is fair

When Pixieset is the better fit

  • You sell prints or digital downloads from the gallery: Pixieset has a store with partner labs and automatic fulfilment.
  • You need the most storage for the money at the top end: 1 TB for $24/mo billed yearly, or unlimited on Ultimate.
  • Your galleries are meant to be shared openly, like events where guests download freely.
  • You also want a website and CRM from the same company (Pixieset sells those separately).
