iPhone and iPad app
While a gallery is open, the app uses iOS secure-content protection so photos don’t show in screenshots, hides the gallery while the screen is recorded or mirrored, and alerts you every time a client takes a screenshot.
Screenshot protection
In the PixoProof apps, screenshots and screen recordings of your client galleries are blocked, and you are alerted when a client takes a screenshot. On the web, galleries deter capture, and we tell you exactly where the limits are.
How it works
What happens when a client tries to capture a gallery depends on where they view it.
While a gallery is open, the app uses iOS secure-content protection so photos don’t show in screenshots, hides the gallery while the screen is recorded or mirrored, and alerts you every time a client takes a screenshot.
Gallery screens use Android’s FLAG_SECURE, so screenshots and screen recordings come out black. On Android 14 and later you are also alerted when a client tries.
Browsers don’t let any website block screenshots, so the web gallery deters instead: right-click, dragging and screenshot shortcuts are caught, and photos blur when the tab loses focus. Web access is off by default, which keeps galleries in the apps.
Included on every plan
Blocking is one layer. Alerts, watermarks and access control cover the rest.
An in-app notification and an email tell you which client took the screenshot, in which gallery, on which platform and when.
Every screenshot is listed in Activity History under its own Screenshots filter and in the album’s Activity tab, so you can follow up calmly.
Previews can carry the viewing client’s name and email plus your studio name and logo, so a leaked image can be traced back to the person it was shared with.
“Allow web access” is off for new albums, so clients open galleries in the free iOS or Android app where screenshot blocking applies. Turn it on per album when convenience matters more.
Each client is invited by email and opens the gallery with their email and the gallery PIN. Repeated wrong PINs are rate-limited.
Downloads are off until you allow them. Choose full-gallery ZIPs, single photos, web size or original size per album.
Limits
Every gallery platform has the same limits. We publish ours.
FAQ
Straight answers about blocking, alerts and what your clients see.
No tool can. In the PixoProof iOS and Android apps, screenshots and screen recordings of an open gallery are blocked, and you are alerted when a client takes a screenshot. In a web browser screenshots can only be discouraged, and nothing stops someone photographing the screen with another phone. Per-client watermarks make any copy that does get out traceable.
For the strongest protection, yes: new albums are app-only, and the PixoProof app is free on iOS and Android. If you turn on web access for an album, clients can also open it in any browser, with lighter, deterrence-only protection.
An in-app notification and an email with the client’s name and email, the gallery, the platform and the time. The event is also listed in Activity History under Screenshots and in the album’s Activity tab.
Yes. The app tells them screenshots are not allowed in the gallery. How you follow up is up to you; most photographers start with a friendly reminder about how previews may be used.
Yes. Every plan, including the Free plan, includes every feature: app screenshot protection, screenshot alerts, activity tracking, watermarks and download controls. Plans differ only by storage.
No. Watermarks protect previews. Downloads are off by default, and when you allow them clients receive clean files in the size you choose.
